The Rollercoaster of Pregnancy Emotions

I feel pregnancy is a different experience for everyone, even though you may seem similar to someones situation, the emotions will always be different throughout the experience. Some of us hate pregnancy and some of us love it. But the ones that do hate it (myself included) I have noticed feel some guilt around that subject and that’s what I’d like to touch on today   You see pregnancy is a whirlwind of changes. A new baby, new feelings, your body is used up and has the nutrients sucked right out of it in my case. This regards both my pregnancy’s where my first child gave me morning sickness and hospital trips throughout and my second well… she nearly killed me several times. Now as scary as that may sound, thankfully I was okay and so was she. But the trauma still follows me even after they were born, leaving me terrified of getting pregnant again.  Now as much as I absolutely adore my children it did leave me asking myself; can I go through another pregnancy? Knowing ...

Pregnancy & Covid-19

Pregnancy works a little different during a pandemic and for those that are unaware of the new protocols and procedures put in place during one, I thought I would give you an insight of at least my experience. So let’s dive into the complications and rules that surround a pandemic pregnancy.  Let’s talk scans. Now usually you would be able to bring a partner or a loved one to a scan, no problem. Sometimes you may even be able to bring the sibling of your child too and let them watch their unborn little brother/sister round around inside your tummy, a truly beautiful thing to see. But during a pandemic scans don’t work as smoothly as they once did. In my experience this is how they worked. When I entered the building I had to go to the waiting room on my own and was given a 2 minute window to be able to call my partner upstairs and direct him to the room to see the un-born baby. Unfortunately you can not even see your partners reaction nor can they see yours as blue masks covers you...

Products That Made Parenting Easier for Me

Hey guys 👋  How are you all? 🥰 let me know in the comments.  I thought I’d write this post as I figured it may help some parents/first-time parents. Some of these products I wished I had brought at the start of my pregnancy, but unfortunately I didn’t know they existed at the time. But lucky for you now I know I can share with you if you didn’t! So let’s get into it 😊  1. Tommy Tippee perfect prep machine   https://amzn.to/3DlvtUn Now this machine was an absolute lifesaver for me and I am still so grateful I had it gifted to me after the birth of my son. It saved me so much time when doing night feeds or even during the day! And if your kids are anything like mine, when they want a bottle.. they want it now and don’t like to wait for it to cool down. Which still amazes me the fact this machine gets the bottles at a perfect temperature every-time and lasts for ages if you take care of it well, for instance mine is still going strong after 17 months and I still have...

Identity Theft by Pregnancy

After we have a child whether it be c-section or natural we all view our bodies differently and know we will never see them the same again. Now I can only speak as a mother that had a c-section birth but I can imagine mothers who experienced a natural birth may feel in some way similar to this.  I looked at the stretch marks and watched as they replicated the claw marks of a tiger. Many people told me these purple, blueish marks would appear but nothing prepared me for the extent. They made me feel unattractive and unworthy of anyones touch. Like my body had been used for its purpose and from now on it’ll be just seen as a vessel for the unborn to grown and not one that could gain arousal from anyone any longer.  My breasts that were once perky were now dropping and filled with milk ready for feeding, their natural purpose for being there which we don’t really consider until our body is inhabited by our unborn. What used to be sexualised is now covered at every attempt to hide...
